Nokia Lumia 800

As the first Nokia phone installed with a Windows Phone system, the Nokia Lumia 800 has attracted a lot of attention. Although its design isn’t new—it's almost identical to the MeeGo-based N9—the Lumia 800 is still one of the best-looking Windows Phones.

Comparing with the N9 which has a 3.9-inch panel, the Lumia 800's AMOLED screen is slightly smaller, measuring 3.7 inches diagonally. Its resolution is WVGA (800 x 480 pixels).

The latest 7.5 Mango OS from Microsoft supports the Chinese interface and the functions of pinyin input, copying and pasting. With its 1.4GHz processor, 512MB RAM and 16GB storage, the handset also supports 14.4 Mbps high-speed 3G network, WLAN 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth functions. The pre-installed map offers services of location inquiry and global navigation in over 100 countries.

The Lumia 800 has an 8-megapixel camera that bears the Carl Zeiss branding. The camera software is straightforward and fast, with little shutter lag. Although the colors of the photos are less saturated, its quality is acceptable for a cell phone.

Retailing at 2,900-3,100 yuan (US$460.3-492.1) in China, the device is available in black, cyan and magenta.
