Deja vu for Chelsea, Arsenal with striker issues

Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca could be forgiven for a feeling of "Deja vu" on Friday when his side visits Brighton in the Premier League, less than a week after Brighton knocked them out of the FA Cup.

Brighton and Chelsea set the ball rolling on another Premier League weekend, where injuries could be a factor after Chelsea confirmed Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu are both injured to limit Maresca's options in attack, while Lewis Dunk is out for Brighton.

Maresca said during the week that Filip Jorgensen will be his first-choice goalkeeper for the game, ahead of Robert Sanchez.

Arsenal visits Leicester City on Saturday lunchtime, with a seven-point deficit to make up to Liverpool after the league leader's dramatic 2-2 draw away to Everton on Wednesday night.

Leicester City is shipping goals and only Southampton has a worse defensive record, but Arsenal's injury crisis in attack gives them a slim hope of taking something from the game. Kai Havertz is Arsenal's latest casualty and could miss rest of the season with a hamstring problem, while Gabriel Martinelli is also sidelined, along with long-term absentees Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus.

Liverpool is at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday, with the doubt over whether coach Arne Slot will be allowed to sit in the dugout, or if he will be suspended after he and assistant Sipke Hulshoff were both sent off in the chaotic scenes following James Tarkowski's 98th minute equalizer for Everton on Wednesday night.

Fifth place Manchester City and sixth placed Newcastle United go head-to-head in a vital game for their top-four hopes.

City lost Manuel Akanji and Jack Grealish to injury in their morale-sapping Champions League defeat to Real Madrid on Tuesday, and coach Pep Guardiola will have to balance giving more game-time to Ruben Dias and John Stones as they look to get to full fitness, while keeping everyone fresh for next week's difficult return leg in Spain.

Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon, who is a slight doubt with a thigh problem, will provide a stiff test of a City defense that has looked vulnerable this season.

Nottingham Forest needed a penalty shoot-out to get past Exeter City of League One in the FA Cup on Tuesday, and now faces a visit to the ever-difficult Fulham, who will be missing Harry Wilson with an ankle problem that keeps him out until April.

Bournemouth is clear favorite to win their south-coast derby against bottom of the table Southampton, although Andoni Iraola's side is handicapped by a long injury list that includes forwards Evanilson and Luis Sinisterra.

West Ham United is at home to Brentford, while Crystal Palace entertains Everton in a match between two teams on the up, with Everton taking 10 points from their last four games, including Wednesday's dramatic draw against Liverpool, while Palace has three wins from their last four games and has moved up to 12th in the classification.

Everton will miss Abdoulaye Doucoure after he was also sent off on Wednesday night.

Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio could both start as Aston Villa is at home to struggling Ipswich Town, before the weekend ends with drama at Old Trafford as Manchester United entertains Tottenham.

United is 13th and Spurs 14th for the game, and it looks important for Tottenham coach Ange Postecoglou after his side's interest in the Carabao Cup and then the FA Cup was ended in four painful days last week.

The Australian needs to see a reaction and Old Trafford could be a good place for that, with Manchester United looking vulnerable in front of their fans, as recent home defeats to Newcastle United, Brighton and Crystal Palace show.

Manchester United has also lost Lisandro Martinez with a torn knee ligament to further add to coach Ruben Amorim's problems.
