Cristiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid scores his second goal from the penalty spot during the La Liga match between Real Madrid and Osasuna at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on November 6, 2011 in Madrid, Spain.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Angel Di Maria engineered leader Real Madrid's 7-1 demolition of 10-man Osasuna in La Liga yesterday, guiding it to a tenth consecutive victory in all competitions.

Ronaldo, the world's most expensive player, paraded the Golden Boot before kickoff for the 40 league goals he scored last season, and he helped his bid to win it again with a hat-trick at the Bernabeu.

Argentina winger Di Maria set up the first three goals for Ronaldo, Pepe and Gonzalo Higuain before being carried off with what looked like a thigh injury at the start of the second half. Ronaldo notched his second goal from the penalty spot in the 54th when Osasuna had defender Eneko Satrustegui sent off, and he bagged his fourth league treble this season in the 57th, taking his La Liga tally to 13, equal with Barcelona's Lionel Messi.

Substitute Karim Benzema wrapped up the scoring with two more goals.

Injury-hit Osasuna, which was thrashed 8-0 away to Barcelona in September, had drawn level at 1-1 in the 31st minute when Ibrahima took advantage of a quickly-taken free kick to beat Iker Casillas.

Real climbed to 28 points from 11 games, four clear of second-placed Barcelona, which can close the gap back to one point with a win at Athletic Bilbao later.

Valencia is third on 24 points after winning the city derby 2-0 at Levante on Saturday, pushing the season's surprise early pace-setter down to fourth with 23 points.

Sevilla is fifth on 18 points after a drab 0-0 draw at a rain-soaked Real Mallorca while Malaga is sixth on 17 points after being held to a 0-0 draw at Andalucian rival Real Betis.

In the Italian Serie A, the big match of the weekend, between sixth-placed Napoli and leader Juventus yesterday, has been postponed due to flooding in the city of Naples.

The match was the second Serie A victim of the bad weather after yesterday's early game between Genoa and Inter Milan was called off due to severe flooding on Friday in which seven people died.

On Saturday, AS Roma scored twice in four minutes to win 2-0 at Novara and Palermo maintained its 100 percent home record with a 3-1 win over Bologna.

Roma's Bojan Krkic scored in the 73rd and Pablo Osvaldo added the second four minutes later to take Roma to eighth on 14 points.
