Introduction

The Sunshine started as a band in the fall 2003. The first small steps towards success was taken in the caves below the Central Station in Stockholm where The Sunshine (ironic enough) have their rehearsal. Besides a lot of gigs in Sweden The Sunshine are continuously touring in Europe and has visited among others Germany and Estonia. The band has through their enthusiastic and sparking live shows developed a reputation as one of Swedens best live acts. The Swedish booking agency is called Beat Agency.

The Sunshine's debut album Love was released in September 2005 in Sweden by Groover Recordings and got great reviews in the Swedish music press. The singles got picked up by Swedish music television and radio play lists. Love is a 10 song explosion of strong melodies, happiness and excitement. Snippets from the whole album available at the website as well as videos for Sabotage, the top 20 chart single She's my television (Featuring Grammy nominated single Pauline) and currently also the title track Love.

In the end of March 2006 the debut album was released in France by Na?ve records and in Japan by Vinyl Junkie. The releases will be followed up by live shows and promotion activities in these countries. Later that spring Italy (Planet records) and Russia (Style records) followed. There was also a USA tour by The Sunshine that year and the band has gotten a lot of attention in the states recently. Three of the tacks (Love twice), Saturday night and C'mon yeah) from the album has appeared in TV-shows on ABC (Grey's Anatomy, CSI, Hope&Faith). The song Sabotage was also featured in a TV-advert for Jaguar and the album was picked up by the mayor of the sunset strip himself Mr. Rodney Bingenheimer who has featured The Sunshine several times in his KROQ show Rodney on the ROQ.

The music is a fluffy form of rock with elements of flutes, cuckoos and call&response0vocals. The ambition is to intermediate happiness and energy in true 60-70's spirit. The inspiration comes from bands like The Beatles, The Hollies and Kinks. The debut album is produced by Tobias and Nalle Karlsson at Art by Accident Studios, NY and Monza Studios, Stockholm. It has been mastered by Andrew Newlove at Fairview Studios, York. The Publishing Company for The Sunshine is Monza Music and music by The Sunshine can be heard in snoboard and surf movies the French Christmas advert for coke and soon USA's most popular tv-show, Grey's anatomy with over 25 milion viewers.

In early 2007 The Sunshine signed a record deal with Bonnier Amigo and entered the legendary Svenska Grammofonstudion in Gothenburg, Sweden to record their 2nd album I Heard A Rumor About You Boy due to be released this fall. The first single The Easy Way Out will hit the stores in August.
