Dalian International Garment & Textile Fair (CIGF)opened in Dalian on August 28, 2008.

The 3rd China (Dalian) International Garment & Textile Fair (CIGF) opened Thursday in Dalian, Northeast China's Liaoning province.

A stage for international show and trade of garment and textile products, the three-day-long fair attracts 460 exhibitors from over 40 domestic cities and 11 foreign countries such as Japan, South Korea, and Italy.

One of the theme activities of this year's fair is named 'Summer of Italy'. It is expected to help Italian brands enter and expand the market in China. Sponsored by the provincial government of Milan, Italy, it boasts a series of activities, including putting up a special exhibition hall for Italian top brands, organizing fashion show for world famous brands, holding forum about modern fashionable life, and signing cooperative contracts in fashion industry between Milan and Dalian government.

Besides ordinary exhibitions, the organizer has arranged three fashion shows for famous Italian brands like Gattinoni in Dalian Furama Hotel.

The fair, upgraded from the 17-year-old Dalian International Garment Fair in 2006, is dedicated to set up a platform for foreign textile products and fashion brands to enter the China market, a stage for domestic brands to enhance world images, and a major information center to release world vogue and fashion trend in China.
