Sina Weibo's membership application was online on June 18, Chongqing Economic Times reported.

Applying for an account as a VIP member will cost you ten yuan per month. After paying that fee, one can enjoy several perks such as identity preservation, an additional host of functions and security services.

The number of followers could surpass 2000, which is the largest number for general users.

Their microblogs could also be preferentially recommended on the platform using the exclusive VIP logo.

開通新浪微博會員只需要每個月支付10元，就可以享受身份、功能、安全等服務。

開通會員后，關注上限可以突破目前一般用戶關注2000人的數量。

會員還可以在微博平臺各推薦展示列表中得到優先推薦，并享用VIP專屬標識。
