According to scientific studies, accessorizing with cheap costume jewelry can be dangerous, the Daily Mail reported.

After running a series of tests on a variety of low-cost jewelry items targeted at youngsters, non-profit environmental safety organization The Ecology Center found alarming levels of harmful chemicals in their composition.

Lead, cadmium, chromium, mercury and arsenic among other highly toxic chemicals were detected in over half the 99 items taken from branches of Claire's, Forever 21 and H&M and other retailers across the United States.

The health issues linked to these substances in past tests on animals and humans include acute allergies, birth defects, impaired learning, liver toxicity and cancer.

廉價配飾有害健康

       據(jù)英國《每日郵報》報道，科學(xué)研究證實，佩戴廉價配飾可能對身體有害。

       非營利環(huán)保組織“生態(tài)中心”對很多種以青少年為目標(biāo)的廉價配飾做了一系列測試，結(jié)果發(fā)現(xiàn)其中的有毒物含量高的驚人。

       在Claire's、Forever 21、H&M及其它美國零售商出售的99件配飾中，一半以上都含有鉛、鎘、鉻、汞、砷等高毒性物質(zhì)。

       此前在人和動物身上的實驗顯示，這些物質(zhì)可能會引起急性過敏、先天畸形、學(xué)習(xí)障礙、肝中毒和癌癥。
