According to a new global poll released on Valentine's Day, nearly two-thirds of married couples and people with a significant other say their partner is the most important source of happiness in their lives, Reuters reported.

In addition, nearly half of all singles yearn above all else to find a sweetheart, with about 45 percent saying that finding a partner would bring them the greatest happiness.

South Africa reported the highest levels of domestic bliss, with 82 percent saying nothing could make them happier than their partner.

Japanese and South Korean couples were at the other end of the scale, with nearly half saying they would hesitate to call their partner the single best thing in their lives. Despite this, they conceded that he or she was the source of at least some of their happiness.

According to the survey conducted in 24 countries, fifty-nine percent of respondents said they were married or living with their partner, while 41 percent said they were not.

這一調(diào)查覆蓋全球24個國家，59%的參與者表示他們已婚或與另一半同居，而另外41%給出了否定回答。
