| Deer may not always be so graceful and lovely, especially when they begin to harass people. A deer overpopulation on Dachen Island off the coast of Zhejiang Province has recently been disrupting locals' lives, Qianjiang Evening News reported. They eat farmers' vegetables and sometimes attack people, especially those dressed in red. The deer problem began in 2007 when some enclosed deer breached a fence and went wild and bred freely. Deers are nationally protected species, so villagers are not allowed to hunt them. The lack of large predators also helps them multiply. |
