| Mr. Mi Pengfei, vice president of the choir, told China.org.cn that the singers are all employees or former employees from UN Headquarters in New York. Their jobs range from editors, translators, librarians, tour guides, security officers, messengers, chauffeurs, accountants, photographers to top-level managers. The choir was founded in 1947 by staff members who wanted to get together to share music from each others' countries. |
合唱團(tuán)副主席宓鵬飛先生在接受中國網(wǎng)采訪時(shí)稱，這些歌手都是聯(lián)合國紐約總部的雇員或卸任人員，他們當(dāng)中有編輯、翻譯、圖書管理員、導(dǎo)游、保安人員、信息員、司機(jī)、會(huì)計(jì)、攝影師及高層經(jīng)理。合唱團(tuán)于1947年成立，那時(shí)候，聯(lián)合國的有些工作人員渴望共享彼此國家的音樂，于是走到了一起。 |
| Guillermo Vaisman, the conductor and musical director, is a famous Argentine musician. Over the past 20 years, he has conducted more than 400 concerts in Argentina, Italy, Switzerland, Uruguay and the United States. He joined the United Nations Singers in June 2004. Vaisman said the choir performed at Peking University and Beijing Foreign Studies University last week and would head back to the US this week. |
音樂指揮及指導(dǎo)奎勒莫?魏斯曼是阿根廷一位知名的音樂家。過去的20年里，他在阿根廷、意大利、瑞士、烏拉圭和美國指揮了400余場(chǎng)音樂會(huì)。他于2004年6月加入“聯(lián)合國合唱團(tuán)”。據(jù)魏斯曼介紹，合唱團(tuán)上周已在北京大學(xué)和北京外國語大學(xué)演出，這周他們將去美國。 |
| For most members of the choir, this was their first trip to China and many of them said they were impressed by how modern Shanghai is. |
