Note: According to the ancient Chinese classic, "The Book of History," there are Five Blessings, also known as the Five Happinesses or Five Good Fortunes. They are: longevity (cháng shòu 長(zhǎng)壽), wealth (fù guì 富貴), health and composure (kāng níng 康寧), virtue (hǎo dé 好德) and the desire to die a natural death in old age (shàn zhōng 善終). Nowadays, popular among the Chinese is another set of five blessings, which consists of happiness (fú 福), high rank (lù 祿), longevity (shòu 壽), joy (xǐ 喜) and fortune (cái 財(cái)).
