The package were provided from the GWTV package service, which enrolls China's TV channels and overseas TV services. As the largest Chinese TV package, GWTV has launched its services in countries and regions of America, Asia, Europe and Oceania.

In Australia, subscribers will be able to receive 16 mandarin channels provided by GWTV. FetchTV is available via Australian ISPs and is delivered to customers via a standard broadband connection and a FetchTV set top box(STB). Programming is available in broadcast quality and it doesn't count towards internet downloading quotas.

Li Jian, president of China International Television Corporation, which runs the GWTV said: "Australia is a major market for overseas Chinese people. Therefore, through our cooperation, we are very pleased to present GWTV to the Chinese people in Australia. Hopefully, we can bring the feeling of their hometown closer to them."

Scott Lorson, CEO of FetchTV said: "Multicultural programming is an important part of the FetchTV strategy, which recognizes and caters for Australia's diverse range of cultural backgrounds."

He also told Xinhua that FetchTV is looking forward to welcoming more quality TV channels from China in order to better meet the demand of Mandarin-speaking communities in Australia.
