Pakistan and India have formally set up an anti-terrorism mechanism as a result of the meeting between Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan in Havana late last year, the Pakistani foreign office said Monday.

Foreign Office spokesperson Tasneem Aslam said that the meeting of the mechanism will take place by March.

"Pakistan and India now have an anti-terrorism mechanism and if there is any evidence for any group from Pakistan involved in any terrorist act, such information can be shared and Pakistan would investigate and take action," she said.

Aslam said that as far as any one referring to a pre-emptive strike they should know that Pakistan will not tolerate that.

Aslam said that progress on the Kashmir dispute would facilitate normalization of relations between the two countries.

She said that the Kashmir issue was discussed in great details during Indian Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee's meeting with Pakistani leaders.

About the visit to Pakistan by Kashmiri leaders from the Indian part of Kashmir, she said that Pakistan would welcome such visit.

Kashmiri leaders are scheduled to visit Pakistan on Jan. 18.
