A new book titled "Tibet: Unrest and Reality", was released in the Nepalese city of Bhaktapur Monday.

Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Zheng Xianglin was invited by the Bhaktapur Journalists' Society to the book release ceremony in the city, located east of the capital Kathmandu.

The book contains reports from China Daily, Xinhua News Agency and Nepal's official daily The Rising Nepal, translated into Nepalese by the society and telling the truth about the criminal acts of violence carried out in Lhasa on March 14 by so-called "Tibet Independence" groups.

Tibet has been an inseparable part of China since the Yuan Dynasty of the 13th century, said Ambassador Zheng, accusing the agitators of trying to split Tibet.

He also detailed the progress made by the Tibet Autonomous Region of China in terms of its economy, culture and education in the past 50 years, and refuted allegations of "culture extinction" and "lack of human rights" in the region.

The chairman of the Nepal Workers and Peasants' Party, Narayan Man Bijukchhe, said it was a western ploy to instigate unrest in Tibet.

The book was released jointly by Bijukchhe and Ambassador Zheng.
