The Anti Retroviral Treatment (ART) has extended the life of AIDS/HIV sufferers in Indonesia, the country's Health Minister Siti Padilah Sufari said on Monday.
The minister made the statement at the ninth International Congress on AIDS/HIV in Asia and Pacific Region (ICAAP) in Bali.
The implementation of the ARF has decreased the fatality of the sufferers from 46 percent in 2006 to 17 percent in 2008, according to the statement.
"The effort of a health approach by providing the community Anti Retroviral Treatment, has showed significantly rise in life resilience on the sufferers receiving the treatment," the statement said.
The government has applied the ART in 234 hospitals since 2004.
Indonesia has recorded 277,000 AIDS/HIV cease.
