CPC launches pilot program to promote scientific development
Adjust font size:

The Communist Party of China (CPC) has launched a pilot program to help its members grasp the essence of "the scientific outlook on development" and incorporate it into their daily work.

Since the program was launched in late February, it has been tried out in 23 Party departments, provincial government organs, state-sponsored enterprises, colleges and central financial institutions, as well as city- and county-level units.

Under the program, relevant institutions promote the scientific outlook on development by giving lectures, carrying out inspections and encouraging participants to use the concept to analyze problems and innovate and improve systems.

The Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee has organized a special group to fan out to eight provinces and municipalities including Hebei, Shandong, Beijing and Zhejiang to conduct inspections, aiming to improve the appraisal system for officials and raise the credibility of the selection of officials.

The 17th CPC National Congress held last year incorporated the scientific outlook on development into the Party constitution, which observers said was a move to unify people's minds on the subject of development.

The concept is described as a continuation and development of the important thoughts on development advanced by the three generations of the Party's central collective leadership and a concentrated expression of the Marxist world outlook and methodology of development.
