The Power Valley Jinjiang International Hotel, in the city of Baoding, in the northern China province of Hebei, is partially powered using self-generated solar energy.

The hotel is a demonstration of what can be achieved in the battle against global warming, using the latest green technology.

The dark squares on the glass ceiling are some of the nearly 4,500 sq meters of solar panels that absorb sunlight and generate electricity.

The hotel is, in effect, a solar energy power plant with a capacity of 0.3 MWp, designed and constructed by the Yingli Green Energy, a domestic company engaged in research, design, manufacture and sales of solar energy equipment.
