During May.1-7, known as the 'May Day golden week,' Dalian's tourist amount and tourism comprehensive revenue saw the obvious increases compared with that of in 2002.

This year, Dalian succeeded in accepting 665,600 tourists (12,000 came abroad), increased by 14.7 percent than in 2002, tourism comprehensive revenue reached to 474 million RMB yuan, increased by 27.4 percent than in 2002, fueled from Dalian Vacation Office yesterday.
 
Due to the bad influence of the SARS last year, the administration adopted the year 2002, the best in past years as the contrast, and still saw a clear increase in the majority industries of local tourism.

Retailing: 9 major department stores and supermarkets (such as Dashang, Newmarket, Wal-Mart,) netted in 175 million RMB yuan, increased by 3 percent than in 2002.

Catering achieved in gross revenue of 2.87 million RMB yuan, increased by 22 percent than in 2002, triple to five times to their ordinary revenues.

Hotel and restaurant's average occupation had reached to 84.2 percent.

The last winner is the tourist destination: during the 'golden week,' there are 1.56 million tourists rushed in and they created a harvest just for ticket revenue of 36.12 million RMB yuan.
