Liaoning plays an important role in the development of the old industrial base of the northeast region. As the window of Shenyang and Liaoning, Shenyang Taoxian International Airport implemented reform and enhanced comprehensive service ability of the airport.

Shenyang Taoxian International Airport situates in the central region of Liaoning Province. With huge development potential, the airport can provide air service for 2,18 million people in Liaoshen region. In order to grasp the opportunity and meet the challenge in the development of the old industrial base of the northeast China, Shenyang Taoxian International Airport carried out reform and improved the management.

From this Jan to Nov, though affected by the SARS epidemic, the handling capacity of passengers at the airport reached 2.71 million person times, and that of goods reached 81,000 tons, an increase of 10.5 percent and 17.8 percent compared with the previous years respectively.

The aviation industry provides great support for the development of Liaoning and northeast China. Therefore, Shenyang Taoxian International Airport actively contact the air companies home and aboard so as to seek cooperative opportunities. Now, the airport not only forms a dense network of domestic airlines, but also operates 15 international airlines. It is developing as a regional international aviation hub to make greater contribution to the development of the old industrial base of the northeast region.
