Precipitation to Hit Large Areas in China

Many regions in China will experience snow and rain in the coming three days and temperatures in most areas of central and east China will drop further, according to a weather forecast released by the China Central Meteorological Station (CCMS) Friday morning.

According to the forecast, from 8 a.m. Thursday to 8 a.m. Friday, most regions in north China had snowfall or rainfall. Heavy snow or snowstorms hit the northern and western parts of north China.

Precipitation in Beijing averaged 29 millimeters. The temperature dropped eight to 13 degrees Celsius in northwest China, north China and the Huaihe River Valley.

The CCMS forecast that the cold air leading to Thursday's snow will move southward to influence most regions in south China in three days.

The eastern part of northwest China, southern part of north China, Huaihe River valley and most regions in south and east China will encounter rain or snow.

The temperature in the southeastern part of northwest China, southern part of north China, Huaihe River valley, east China and south China will drop up to 12 degrees Celsius by Nov. 10.
