Beijing Folk Tours Resume
The Rural Work Committee and the Tourism Administration Bureau affiliated to the Beijing municipal government announced together that Beijing's rural folk custom tours resumed on July 1.

Beijing has a total of 210 folk custom tour spots with more than 11,000 families involved in providing tourist services.

On behalf of Beijing's rural custom tourist industry, ten representatives from different professional families signed a pact for a "civilized health tour" on Tuesday.

The pact regulates that rooms, fittings and appliances must be clean and disinfected timely everyday, especially detailed disinfectant measures required for kitchen utensils.

What's more, it is forbidden to cook or serve wild animals and other flesh without sanitation quarantine for tourists.

The pact also encourages folk custom providers to separately carry out eating of dishes, and offer public scoops and chopsticks. Besides that, toilets will be better equipped.

Since July 5, Beijing Bashi Tour Co. Ltd has cooperated with the tourist authorities from Huairou District and Miyun County and held promotion activities, providing discount at scenic spots with tickets in these regions based on bus tickets.

The buses participating in the activities are tour buses 6, 12, 16, and special tour buses to Heilongtan Pond, Taoyuanxiangu Valley, as well as Yunmeng Mountain.

Scenic spots with favorable tickets provided are the Mutianyu Great Wall, Yanqi Lake, Hongluo Temple, Qinglong Gorge, the Simatai Great Wall, Heilongtan Pond, the No.1 Waterfall in Beijing suburbs, Taoyuanxiangu Valley and Yunmeng Mountain National Forest Park.

Buses depart between 6:30 to 8:00 am at Qianmen (northeast corner), Xizhimen (northwest corner), Hangtian Bridge, Dongzhimen (terminal of Bus 401), northern crossing of Heping Street, Chongwenmen (southeast corner), Xuanwumen (northeast corner), Wudaokou, Dongsishitiao (terminal of Bus 42) and Gongzhufen.

It is reported that the activity will last for one month, ending on August 5. For more details tourists may call: 86-10-66018285, 63035066.
