Passengers have two new rail options to travel to Dunhuang, location of the world-famous Dunhuang Grottos.

The Lanzhou Railway Bureau has opened a new line between Jiuquan and Dunhuang, and extended the Dunhuang-Jiayuguan route to Yinchuan.

Train N923 from Jiuquan to Dunhuang departs Jiuquan at 1:08 pm, stops in Jiayuguan at 1:28 pm and arrives in Dunhuang at 6:14 pm. Train N924 in the opposite direction departs Dunhuang at 7:30 am, stops at Jiayuguan at 12:15 pm and arrives in Jiuquan at 12:38 pm.

The Dunhuang-Yinchuan route extension has altered the timetable as follows. Train N927 departs from Yinchuan at 3:30 pm and stops in Jiayuguan at 5:27 am the next day, before arriving in Dunhuang at 10:06 am. Train N928 departs from Dunhuang at 1:16 pm, stops in Jiayuguan at 6:11 pm and arrives in Yinchuan at 9:20 am the next day. Train N927 will run every two days from August 26th and Train N928 will run on the alternate days.

The timetable for trains N915/6 between Lanzhou to Dunhuang has also changed. The new schedule is set out below.

Train N915 departs Lanzhou at 5:30 pm, stops in Jiayuguan at 2:22 am the next day and arrives in Dunhuang at 7:00 am. The train stops over in Yumenzhen instead of Jiuquan.

Train N916 departs Dunhuang at 6:54 pm, stops in Jiayuguan at 11:24 pm and arrives in Lanzhou at 8:36 am the next day, with an added stopover in Yumenzhen.
