The 2006 Guiding Golden Sea and Snowy Mountain Tourist Festival opened in Guiding County in southwest China's Guizhou Province on Saturday, fascinating tourists with a broad landscape of flowers.

The lovely scenery dubbed as Golden Sea and Snowy Mountain refers to the vast expanse of land strewn with yellow rape flowers and white plum blossoms in spring season.

The festival lasting to April 8th is attractive to tourists looking for pristine countryside scenery and lively performance by locals of ethnic minorities in Guizhou while enjoying a taste of fragrant, fresh spring tea from foggy mountain, according to the local tourist promoters.

There are a rich variety of activities during the festival including Guizhou Tourist Ambassador Contest with the backdrop of the landscape.

The Yinzhai village of Guiding County is the typical model of China's agricultural tourist spot with some 600,000 person-time visits last year.
