Weekly Weather Forecast (January 2 to 8)

Northwest China: January 2 to 5, northern and eastern Xinjiang and eastern parts of the region will have light to moderate snowfall, or heavy snowfall in some areas, accompanied by force 4 to 6 northerly winds and lower temperatures. January 6 to 8, most of the region will be sunny to cloudy with possible fogs and light snow in some of western and northern Xinjiang, western Qinghai and western Gansu.

 

North China: January 2 to 5, affected by streams of cold air, most of the region will be overcast with light to moderate snow with heavy snow in some places, accompanied by force 4 to 6 northerly winds and lower temperatures. January 6 to 8, most of the region will be sunny to cloudy with possible fogs, while light snow will fall in some northeastern sections of Inner Mongolia.

 

Northeast China: January 2, northern and eastern parts of Heilongjiang Province will meet light to moderate snow. January 3 to 4, central and southern parts of the region will get light to moderate snowfall with heavy snow in some areas and force 4 to 6 northerly winds throughout most of the northeast. January 5 to 6, easternmost and the Liaodong Peninsula will continue to experience light to moderate snowfall with heavy to stormy snow in some areas, accompanied by force 7 to 8 strong winds and colder temperatures.

 

Central China: January 2, most of the region will be under cloudy to overcast skies with fogs. January 3 to 5, most of the region will be overcast with light to moderate rain or snow, but some places will expect heavy to stormy rain or snows. Areas north of the Yangtze River will have force 4 to 6 northerly winds and areas south of the Yangtze River will meet force 4 to 5 northerly winds with dropping temperature. January 6 to 8, most of the region will be sunny to cloudy with drizzle or light snowfall in some of western parts. January 7 to 8, fogs will appear in most of the region.

 

East China: January 2, most of the region will be cloudy with fogs. January 3 to 5, affected by streams of cold air, most of the region will turn to be overcast with light to moderate rainfall or snowfall, while Shandong Province, central and northern Jiangsu and some of northern Anhui Province will receive heavy to stormy snowfall. The Shandong Peninsula will meet heavy snowstorms with force 4 to 6 northerly winds in most parts and force 6 to 8 strong winds in the coastal areas, while the temperatures will also decline. January 6 to 8, most of the region will be sunny to cloudy with possible fogs. January 6 to 7, northeastern sections of the Shangdong Peninsula will continue to see snowfall.

 

South China: January 2 to 3, most of the region will be cloudy with fog. January 4 to 5, the region will be cloudy and partly overcast and get colder with light rainfall or showers expected in some places. January 6 to 8, most of the region will see cloudy skies with fogs while the coastal areas and some of Hainan Island will experience showers.

 

Southwest China: January 2 to 4, eastern Tibet and eastern parts of the region will see cloudy to overcast skies with fog, while some areas will expect light to moderate rainfall or snow or showers and some of Guizhou Province will get ice rain. January 4 to 5, force 4 northerly winds will blow in the Sichuan Basin, Chongqing and Guizhou. The temperatures in eastern sections of the region will also drop. January 6 to 8, eastern sections of the region will be cloudy to overcast with rain or snow showers and fog expected in some areas.
