Sliced Noodles Hit Tokyo

Sliced noodles, mostly recognized by people for chef's artistic performance in making the noodles, has gradually become Japanese people's favorite main food on table.

In the past, many Chinese living in Japan were the main consumers of the noodles.

At present, however, there are more than 20 restaurants in Japan that make sliced noodles and these restaurants are full of people at lunchtime, most of them are native young Japanese, who like the noodles made with a chilly flavor.

The manager at the Xi’an sliced noodles restaurant, Lin Yongli told reporters that Japanese were conservative in their eating habits.

So the business of the restaurant in the past mainly relied on Chinese people living in Japan.

In the past two years, Japanese media have begun to make more coverage on this traditional Chinese food. On TV, it is easy for people to watch a Chinese chef making sliced noodles.

The chef of the restaurant, Wang Wei told reporters that Japanese liked the noodles for its flavor, the taste in the mouth and the environment when eating them. The on-site performance, of course, also catches people’s attention.

At present, many noodle restaurants are short of chefs capable of making such noodles. Sometimes restaurant managers are willing to pay a high salary and still can not find the chef they want.
