Weekly Weather Forecast (May 16 to 22)

Northwest China: May 16, northern Xinjiang will be overcast with light rainfall or showers. May 16 to 18, eastern parts will continue to see overcast days with light to moderate rain expected, while some southeastern areas will meet heavy rainfall. May 19 to 20, the southeast will remain overcast with light rain or showers; northern Xinjiang will be overcast with light rain. May 21 to 22, eastern portions will see more light to moderate rainfall.

 

North China: May 16 to 17, most of the region will receive light to moderate rain with heavy rainfall in some areas and force 4 to 6 northerly winds in northernmost sections. May 18 to 20, most of the region will see light to moderate rain or showers. May 21, western sections will see overcast weather with possible light rainfall or showers.

 

Northeast China: May 16, northernmost sections will be under overcast skies with light rain or showers. May 17 to 18, most of the region will experience light to moderate rainfall with heavy rain expected in some places, accompanied by force 4 to 6 southerly or northerly winds. May 19 to 20, some of the northeast will be overcast with light rain or showers with moderate rainfall in some areas. May 21 to 22, most of the region will be under sunny to cloudy skies.

 

Central China: Affected by streams of both cold and warm air, most of the region will be dominated by overcast and rainy days during the week. May 16 to 17, most will get light to moderate rain, while some of southern Henan, Hubei and northern Hunan will see heavy rain or storms. May 20 to 21, most of the region will see more light to moderate rain with heavy rain or storms expected in some central parts, accompanied by temporary strong winds and lightning storms in some places.

 

East China: May 16 to 17, most of the region will see light to moderate rain or thunder showers, while some of Jiangsu and Anhui, northern Jiangxi and northern Zhejiang will see heavy rain to rainstorms, accompanied by possible temporary strong winds and hale. May 18 to 20, the Yangtze-Huaihe area and northern areas south of the Yangtze will see continuous precipitation. May 21 to 22, most of the east will have light to moderate rain or thunder showers, while the Yangtze-Huaihe area and northern areas south of the Yangtze will meet heavy rain to storms with possible temporary strong winds and hale.

 

South China: May 16 to 18, western parts will be overcast with light to moderate rain or showers. May 19, western and northern Guangxi will be overcast with light rain or showers. May 20 to 21, western and northern areas will see overcast days and light to moderate rain or showers. May 22, most of the south will continue to experience light to moderate rain or showers.

 

Southwest China: Overcast and wet days will dominate most of the region this week. May 16 to 18, most will have light to moderate rain or showers, while eastern Sichuan, Chongqing and some of Guizhou will meet heavy rain or storms, with temporary strong winds and lightning storms expected in some places. May 19 to 20, eastern parts will see more rain. May 21 to 22, most of the region will continue to have light to moderate rain or showers, while some eastern parts will receive heavy rain or storms with temporary strong winds possible in some areas.
