Weekly Weather Forecast (Dec. 13-19)

(Editor's note: China.org.cn apologizes for the omission of several days' forecasts this week. The National Meteorological Center was unable to provide them at press time.)

Northwest China: Affected by streams of cold air, from December 13-15, western and northern Xinjiang and eastern portions of the northwest will be overcast with possible light snowfall, accompanied by force 4-6 northerly winds. Those areas will continue to experience light to moderate snowfall and force 4-6 northerly winds from December 16-18, with force 7-9 gales expected in the mountain passes. The temperature will drop after the cold front moves through.

North China: From December 14-15, affected by streams of cold air, northernmost sections of the region will see force 4-6 northerly winds, with overcast skies and light rain or snowfall expected in the central and southern areas. From December 16-18, affected by both warm and cold air streams, most of the region will receive light to moderate rain or snowfall, moving from west to east, with heavy snowfall expected in some of the central and southern portions.

Northeast China: From December 14-15, affected by streams of cold air, easternmost portions of the region will be overcast with light snowfall and force 4-6 northerly winds. On December 18, western portions of the northeast will have light to moderate snowfall with heavy snow expected in some areas.

Central China: From December 14-15, some central and southern portions of the region will be overcast with light rain. From December 17-19, affected by both warm and cold air streams, most of central China will have light to moderate rainfall or snow.

East China: From December 13-16, most of east China will be sunny to cloudy. From December 17-19, affected by streams of cold air, most of the region will have light to moderate snow.

South China: From December 13-16, most of the region will be sunny to cloudy. From December 17-19, most of the south will meet light to moderate rainfall moving from west to east.

Southwest China: From December 13-14, most of the region will be dominated by cloudy skies. From December 15-16, eastern portions of the region will be overcast with light rainfall. From December 17-19, most of the southwest will have light to moderate rain or snowfall.
