Weekly Weather Forecast (Nov. 29 to Dec. 5)

Northwest China: From November 29–30, some of western and northern Xinjiang will have light to moderate snowfall, while eastern portions of the region will be sunny to cloudy with light snow expected in some areas. From December 1–3, western Xinjiang and some of Qinghai Province will be overcast with light snowfall, while the remaining portions of northwest China will be dominated by cloudy skies. From December 4–5, affected by streams of cold air, most of Xinjiang will experience force 4–6 northerly winds rising to force 7–9 in the mountain passes. Eastern sections of the northwest will see force 4–5 northerly winds with overcast skies and light to moderate snowfall expected in some areas. Temperatures will fall in most of the region.

 

North China: On November 29, most of the region will feel force 4 northerly winds. From November 30–December 2, most of north China will be sunny to cloudy with possible fog and a drop in temperature, while the northern and eastern portions will be overcast with possible light snowfall and the central and northern portions will meet force 4–5 northerly winds. On December 3, most of the north will be sunny to cloudy, while southern sections will be overcast with light sleet expected. From December 4–5, the northernmost sector will be overcast with light snow and force 4–5 northerly winds while the central and western sections will be overcast with fog; some areas will see light to moderate rainfall or sleet.

 

Northeast China: From November 29–December 1, most of the region will be cloudy to sunny with force 4–6 northerly winds, while the plains areas will see colder temperatures and fog. From December 2–3, affected by streams of cold air, some sections will be overcast with light snowfall, while most of the region will have force 4–6 southerly, then northerly winds with a further drop in temperature. From December 4–5, most of northeast China will see sunny to cloudy days with the northernmost sections remaining overcast and snowy.

 

Central China: From November 29–30, most of the region will be sunny to cloudy. From December 1–3, most areas will be overcast with light to moderate rainfall or snow, with possible fog and heavy rain expected in some areas. Temperatures in areas north of the Yangtze River will drop. On December 4, central and southern portions of the region will be overcast with possible light rainfall, while the rest of the region will remain sunny to cloudy. Temperatures in areas south of the Yangtze River will also begin to fall. On December 5, most of central China will be cloudy, while western portions will be cloudy to overcast with possible rain or snow showers.

 

East China: From November 29–30, most of the region will be sunny to cloudy with force 4–5 northerly winds expected in areas north of the Huaihe River. On December 1, areas south of the Huaihe will be overcast with light rainfall or sleet. From December 2–4, affected by streams of cold air, most areas will be cloudy and partly overcast with light rainfall or snow showers, accompanied by fog, force 4 northerly winds and colder temperatures in the northern and eastern sectors. On December 5, most of the east will be under sunny to cloudy skies.

 

South China: From November 29–December 1, western parts of the region and some of Hainan Island will be overcast with light rainfall, while the remaining sections will be cloudy to sunny with colder temperatures. From December 2–3, western areas will be cloudy to overcast with light to moderate rainfall possible, while the remainder of the region will be sunny to cloudy. From December 4–5, most of the south will be under cloudy skies, while those in the west will continue to see overcast or rainy days. Temperatures in the northern and eastern sections are likely to fall slightly.

 

Southwest China: Most of the region will alternate between overcast and rainy weather throughout the week. From November 29–December 1, eastern Tibet and eastern parts of the region will be overcast with light to moderate rainfall or snow accompanied by a drop in temperature. From December 2–5, most of southwest China will be cloudy and partly overcast with light rain or snowfall, while some of eastern portions will receive moderate to heavy rainfall.
