Sanlitun Bar Street, the most famous bar area in Beijing, is looking for an emblem and sign for the street in a bid to improve its image and status.

The candidates are emblems and signs found in some 20 bars located in the street. A committee formed by the bar owners will select a winner by July 20.

Afro-Caribbean beat

As part of the "This is the Chivas Life," a series of club events brining original nightlife scene in cities like Tokyo, Paris and London to Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.

The coming event in Beijing is a London night at Club Banana on July 10.

DJ Skeewiff and The Stockholm Film Group from London will bring a mix of the funk and the soul that have made them famous in London and other parts of the world.

VJ Wadaken, a Binaural Vision Project, will also be there help to create a London cityscape.

Great Wall of sound

The event of the month is no doubt the Great Wall party at the Jinshanglin section of the Great Wall.

Local DJs Mickey Zhang and Dio, the founders of Morse party music will hit the decks along with China Pump Factory's local DJ Yang Bing and English DJ Will.
