China's first monitoring and research station at Mt. Qomolangma (known in the West as Mt.Everest) has been put into operation recently. It is the world's first most comprehensive station for monitoring and research at Mt. Qomolangma.
Powered by a 10-kw solar system, it can accommodate 15 to 20 visiting experts now. The Chinese Academy of Sciences has a lot of instruments in place for monitoring atmosphere, environment and physical geography watch.
