The Arab reform should best fit the Arab conditions, Syria's official news agency SANA said on Sunday, quoting visiting Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. 

The Arab reform should be in accordance with the cultural, economic and social characteristics in Arab countries, the two presidents asserted.

Mubarak paid a very brief visit to Damascus Sunday evening and held a meeting with Assad at the presidential hall of the Damascus International Airport.

During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed proposals and formulas to develop the Arab League and activate the joint Arab action, as well as some issues on the agenda of the forthcoming Arab summit, scheduled at the end of the current month in Tunis.

Their talks also focused on intra-Arab relations, the current situation in the region and the latest developments, particularly in the occupied Palestinian territories and Iraq.

The outcomes of the latest Arab foreign ministers' meeting in Cairo and of Mubarak's tour in several European countries were also reviewed.

Both sides agreed to continue consultations and coordination between the two countries vis-à-vis the critical conditions the region is passing through.
