A stone sculpture with a fountain has been erected in Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province, to mark the friendship between Guangzhou and the city of Auckland in New Zealand.
The sculpture, named "Auckland -- Cascading Energy", was sent by Auckland to mark the 15th anniversary of the establishment of sister city links with Guangzhou.
The sculpture, about two meters high, symbolizes the Auckland people's love of the sea and the environment. The city gave a Maori warrior wood sculpture to Guangzhou in 1996.
A delegation led by Auckland Mayor John Banks arrived in Guangzhou Sunday for a four-day visit, aiming to further administrative and commercial links between the two cities.
