Chinese, Bolivian FMs vow to boost bilateral ties
Adjust font size:

Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi held talks with his Bolivian counterpart David Choquehuanca in Beijing on Thursday. Both sides agreed to boost bilateral ties.

Yang said since China and Bolivia established diplomatic ties, their relations have developed smoothly and the presidents of both countries had reached consensus in deepening bilateral relations.

New progress has been made in their cooperation in political, economic and trade, cultural and educational fields and the two countries has kept sound cooperation in dealing with international affairs, Yang said.

China would work with Bolivia to consolidate bilateral relations based on mutual respect, mutual benefit and common development, he said.

Yang said China will continue to help Bolivia in its economic and social development.

Choquehuanca appreciated China's support and assistance, saying the Bolivian government will attach great importance to its relations with China.

Bolivia hopes to strengthen cooperation with China in science and technology, mining, telecommunication, poverty alleviation, education and human resource training, Choquehuanca said.

Bolivia will firmly keep on pursuing the one-China policy, he added.

Both sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern.

After the talks, the two ministers signed a series of documents including an agreement on China-Bolivia economic and technological cooperation.
