Chinese, Kazakh Leaders Meet on Bilateral Ties
Adjust font size:

Chinese and Kazakh leaders have met to discuss bilateral relations, cooperation between the two nations' parliaments and to exchange views on issues of common concern.

A Chinese delegation, headed by He Luli, vice chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), paid a visit to Kazakhstan at an invitation of the Upper House of the Kazakh Parliament on September 10-13.

During the visit, He met with Speaker of the Upper House of the Parliament Kasymzhomart Tokaev, Prime Minister Karim Masimov and Sergey Dyachenko, Deputy Chairman of the Majilis (lower house) of Parliament.

Both sides agreed that China-Kazakhstan relations have developed rapidly since the two countries established diplomatic relations 15 years ago. The two nations have established close cooperation in politics, economy, security and culture.

They agreed that Chinese President Hu Jintao's visit to Kazakhstan in August injected a new impetus to the development of bilateral relations.

The two nations agreed that China's NPC and Kazakh Parliament will further enhance exchanges and cooperation at all levels and through all channels.

The Kazakh side said developing relations with China is a priority of its diplomatic policies and it will strive to consolidate and promote the development of Kazakhstan and China's strategic partnership.

Kazakhstan adheres to the one-China policy and will unswervingly support China's stance on Taiwan and its efforts to safeguard national unity. Kazakhstan is ready to strengthen cooperation with China to fight the "evil forces" of separatism, extremism and terrorism to safeguard regional peace, security and stability.
