State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan met with a Japanese parliamentary delegation in Beijing on Sunday, calling for complete fulfillment of the consensus reached by the two countries during Premier Wen Jiabao's "ice-melting" trip to Japan earlier April.

The current China-Japan relations have seen good momentum of improvement, said Tang, hoping the two countries could cherish the hard-won results and keep pushing forward the strategic, mutually beneficial relationship between the two neighbors.

The delegation, led by President Komura Masahiko of the Japanese Association of Dietmen League for Japan-China Friendship, is visiting China with an aim to facilitate bilateral parliamentary exchanges.

The league is one of the seven Japanese organizations for Japan-China friendship. The delegation is here at the invitation of the China-Japan Friendship Association.

Komura Masahiko said Japan-China ties have improved since Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe made an "ice-breaking" visit to China last year and Premier Wen paid an "ice-melting" visit to Japan in April. He urged the two countries to enhance cooperation in various fields to materialize the strategic, mutually beneficial relationship.
