US Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez arrived in Beijing Thursday morning, starting his first visit to China after taking office earlier this year.  

Chinese senior officials were set to hold talks or meet with the US official during his three-day stay in Beijing. Local analysts expect it could help to cool down Sino-US textile trade friction.
