Chinese film director Sun Zhou has bought the rights to film the novel 'Doctor Du Ming'.

South Korean actress Kim Hee Sun and Leon Lai are the favorites to play the lead role in the thriller, dubbed China's answer to the American novel the Silence of the Lambs.

The novel tells the story of a male doctor involved in a series of killings.

Sun Zhou has successfully directed films like Zhou Yu's Train and Beautiful Mum.
