From the end of the 1950s, the friendly relations between the Chinese and Soviet Parties and governments gradually deteriorated. In July 1960, the Soviet Government unilaterally decided to withdraw all Soviet experts working in China and to terminate the agreement on economic and technological cooperation between the two countries.
