Zookeepers hope falsies will save kangaroo
Adjust font size:

Xingxing, a 2-year-old kangaroo kept at Xi'an Qinling Wild Zoo, Shaanxi Province, is hoping for a new set of teeth. She is suffering from gum disease and has lost almost all her molars.

"We found that Xingxing was eating very little and was becoming weak. After examination, we found she only had one molar left out of eight, which meant she could not chew."

Her keepers said they kept Xingxing alive on a liquid diet of apples and vegetables, with added glucose.

The zoo is hoping dental experts can help the kangaroo and make a set of false teeth for it.
