Music has also brought another country closer to the Chinese. Canadian musical sensation Barrage has made a comeback to China. This time, they staged Vagabond Tale on May 23, combining rollicking musicals and acrobatics.

Building on the success of the debut show A Violin Sings, A Fiddle Dances, Barrage's new show in Beijing explores the whimsical world of the vagabond. The vagabond's story is one of enlightened freedom, self-discovery and fun. With a magical steamer crate for inspiration, the international cast explores an eclectic repertoire while showcasing an impressive array of individual musical talent.

The production weaves together music from many different areas and cultures. It's a memorable show that features unique choreography and colorful staging with stunning musical arrangements.

Audiences who love the classical arts, however, weren't so keen on the acrobatic-style musical.

Zhong Bo, audience member, said, "I like pure and authentic music more. This show combines some pop elements with the classical performance. It sounds quite exciting, but you won't remember much of it after you leave."

The show stage at the Beijing Exhibition Center on May the 23 and 24. Although it took some critical heat from the Chinese audience, the troupe achieved great commercial success.
