Hohhot, capital of northern China's Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region is planning to set up a primitive cultural museum at a relic spot with donations from the Macao Foundation.
The Dayao (大窑) relics, located in northern outskirts of the city, is a primitive stone factory dating back to the Stone Age. It is also considered the largest stone factory in the world.
The museum will cover an area of 3,000 square kilometers. Apart from displaying the old stone-making site, tens of thousands of the unearthed Stone-Aged relics in Inner Mongolia are to be exhibited.
The Macao Foundation has donated 2 million yuan to assist in the construction, and the whole project will be complete at the end of this year.
The museum, according to the designers, is to protect the relics and is expected to be developed into a tourist destination for sightseeing.
