Pollution Prevention and Control
A sound eco-environment is critical to China's development. It is a priority issue affecting people's wellbeing and essential to building a beautiful China.
At its 19th National Congress, the CPC announced its determination to fight pollution. In June 2018, the central authorities issued guidelines and made overall plans on environmental protection and pollution control. At its fifth plenary session in October 2020, the 19th CPC Central Committee reiterated the need to continue pollution control. In November 2021, the central authorities issued another document on the fight against pollution, establishing the principle of taking targeted measures and science-based approaches in accordance with the law. China will coordinate pollution control and environmental protection, respond to climate change, keep its skies blue, its waters clear and its lands pollution-free by applying higher standards, and promote high-quality development with high-standard protection for a better life.
China's steadfast fight against pollution displays the determination of the central leadership with Xi Jinping at the core as regards eco-environmental protection and conservation, and embodies the CPC's strategic resolution to build a beautiful China with harmony between humanity and nature. It also responds to the people's desire for a better life after attaining moderate prosperity.
污染防治攻堅戰
良好生態環境是實現中華民族永續發展的內在要求，是增進民生福祉的優先領域，也是建設美麗中國的重要基礎。中共十九大明確提出堅決打好污染防治攻堅戰。2018年6月，中共中央、國務院印發《關于全面加強生態環境保護 堅決打好污染防治攻堅戰的意見》，對打好污染防治攻堅戰作出全面部署。2020年10月，中共十九屆五中全會進一步提出深入打好污染防治攻堅戰。2021年11月，中共中央、國務院印發《關于深入打好污染防治攻堅戰的意見》，明確以精準治污、科學治污、依法治污為工作方針，統籌污染治理、生態保護、應對氣候變化，以更高標準打好藍天、碧水、凈土保衛戰，以高水平保護推動高質量發展、創造高品質生活。
污染防治攻堅戰從“十三五”時期的“堅決打好”到“十四五”時期的“深入打好”，體現了以習近平同志為核心的中共中央對生態文明建設和生態環境保護一以貫之的高度重視，彰顯了中國共產黨建設人與自然和諧共生美麗中國的戰略定力和堅強決心，積極回應了全面建成小康社會之后人民群眾追求更高品質生活的熱切期盼。
