A New Path for Guizhou
During his inspection tour in Guizhou in June 2015, President Xi Jinping noted the crucial importance of development and ecological conservation as well as the need to tread a new path of development that is different from that of any eastern or other western provinces.
Guizhou has made all-out efforts in the pursuit of green development. Its fast GDP growth has been accompanied by a continued improvement of the environment. As of the end of 2020, the province had 89 nature reserves whose total area stands at 850,810 hectares and its forest coverage reached 60%. Twelve industries with local features and strengths have emerged in the province's agricultural sector, including edible mushrooms and vegetables. It has developed a modern service sector focusing on inclusive tourism, big data, and comprehensive healthcare. A Guizhou-style industrial sector has taken shape, featuring ten major industries such as high-quality tobacco and alcohol, modern energy, new building materials, eco-featured food, big data and electronic information, health and pharmaceuticals, and new energy vehicles. In particular, Guizhou has fostered a fast-growing digital economy and big data has become a new business card for the province, a magnet that has attracted a large number of giants and business leaders in the global Internet industry.
Guizhou's air quality has ranked among the country's best for many years. In 2018, 2019 and 2020, the average proportion of days with good air quality in nine major cities of the province was 97.2%, 98% and 99.2%, respectively. The capital city Guiyang, in particular, has improved its ambient air quality significantly. In the early 21st century, Guiyang was listed by the United Nations as one of the world's top ten polluted cities for its serious acid rain problem. With years of determined efforts, Guiyang has managed to solve the problem and rank itself among the country's top ten cities by air quality, creating a miracle in air pollution control.
Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets. Guizhou has risen to the double challenges of catching up with others and transforming itself at the same time. Particularly, emerging industries represented by big data and technology projects represented by the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope (FAST), have enabled Guizhou to compete globally and contribute its experience to global green development.
貴州新路
2015年6月,習(xí)近平在貴州視察時提出,守住發(fā)展和生態(tài)兩條底線,走出一條有別于東部、不同于西部其他省份的發(fā)展新路。
貴州全力推進綠色發(fā)展,在經(jīng)濟總量快速增長的同時,生態(tài)環(huán)境質(zhì)量也持續(xù)改善。截至2020年末,全省共有自然保護區(qū)89個,自然保護區(qū)面積850.81千公頃,全省森林覆蓋率達到60%。在產(chǎn)業(yè)方面,形成了食用菌、蔬菜等12個農(nóng)業(yè)特色優(yōu)勢產(chǎn)業(yè)體系,形成了以大旅游、大數(shù)據(jù)、大健康等為重點的現(xiàn)代服務(wù)業(yè)體系,形成了以優(yōu)質(zhì)煙酒、現(xiàn)代能源、新型建材、生態(tài)特色食品、大數(shù)據(jù)電子信息、健康醫(yī)藥、新能源汽車等十大工業(yè)產(chǎn)業(yè)為主的貴州特色工業(yè)體系。特別是貴州加快發(fā)展數(shù)字經(jīng)濟,將大數(shù)據(jù)打造成為一張新名片,吸引了一大批全球互聯(lián)網(wǎng)行業(yè)巨頭和領(lǐng)軍人才加入。
貴州空氣質(zhì)量多年來位居全國前列。2018年至2020年,全省九個中心城市空氣質(zhì)量平均優(yōu)良天數(shù)比率分別為97.2%、98.0%和99.2%。其中,省會貴陽市的環(huán)境空氣質(zhì)量明顯改善。21世紀初,貴陽市曾因酸雨嚴重被聯(lián)合國列為全球十大污染城市之一,經(jīng)過多年持續(xù)整治,貴陽市成功甩掉“酸雨城市”的帽子,躋身中國城市空氣質(zhì)量前十強,成為空氣污染治理的一個奇跡。
綠水青山就是金山銀山。既要趕超,又要轉(zhuǎn)型,貴州克服了雙重挑戰(zhàn)。特別是以大數(shù)據(jù)為代表的新興產(chǎn)業(yè)和以中國天眼為代表的科技工程,讓貴州登上全球競技的舞臺,并為全球綠色發(fā)展貢獻了貴州經(jīng)驗。
