The Military Political Work Conference in Gutian
From October 30 to November 2, 2014, a Military Political Work Conference was held in Gutian, a historically significant town in east China's Fujian Province, attended by Xi Jinping and senior military leaders. The conference emphasized the importance of political ethics, and discussed measures the Party should take to raise political awareness in the military in the new era, keep alive the great tradition of political work, and mobilize all military personnel to join the Party's effort to strengthen the military in response to new realities.
Addressing the conference, Xi Jinping highlighted the contemporary relevance of political work, since it provides strong support for the Party's goal of building a strong military as part of the effort to realize the Chinese Dream of national renewal. He emphasized the need to bolster confidence in the Party's ideals, demonstrate commitment to Party principles, improve combat capabilities, and strengthen the authority of military political work. He also outlined measures to cement political loyalty of the military, strengthen the accountability of mid-level and senior officers, improve ethics, combat corruption, promote morale and fighting spirit, and update political work in a creative way.
A decision on strengthening political work in the military under new conditions was adopted at the conference and distributed Party-wide by the Central Committee. The conference provides a strategic framework for the CPC's political awareness initiatives to boost efforts to build a strong country and a strong military, and opens a new chapter in invigorating and breathing fresh life into the ethical traditions of the people's armed forces.
古田全軍政治工作會(huì)議
2014年10月30日至11月2日，習(xí)近平帶領(lǐng)全軍高級(jí)干部在古田這個(gè)具有標(biāo)志性意義的地方，召開全軍政治工作會(huì)議。會(huì)議貫徹整風(fēng)精神，著力研究解決新的歷史條件下黨從思想上政治上建設(shè)軍隊(duì)的重大問(wèn)題，弘揚(yáng)人民軍隊(duì)政治工作的光榮傳統(tǒng)和優(yōu)良作風(fēng)，動(dòng)員全軍為實(shí)現(xiàn)黨在新形勢(shì)下的強(qiáng)軍目標(biāo)而團(tuán)結(jié)奮斗。
習(xí)近平在會(huì)上發(fā)表重要講話，明確緊緊圍繞實(shí)現(xiàn)中華民族偉大復(fù)興的中國(guó)夢(mèng)，為實(shí)現(xiàn)強(qiáng)軍目標(biāo)提供堅(jiān)強(qiáng)政治保證的政治工作時(shí)代主題，提出把理想信念、黨性原則、戰(zhàn)斗力標(biāo)準(zhǔn)、政治工作威信4個(gè)帶根本性的東西在全軍牢固立起來(lái)，強(qiáng)調(diào)著力抓好鑄牢軍魂工作、高中級(jí)干部管理、作風(fēng)建設(shè)和反腐敗斗爭(zhēng)、戰(zhàn)斗精神培育、政治工作創(chuàng)新發(fā)展等5個(gè)方面。會(huì)議形成《關(guān)于新形勢(shì)下軍隊(duì)政治工作若干問(wèn)題的決定》，中共中央轉(zhuǎn)發(fā)全黨。會(huì)議確立了中國(guó)共產(chǎn)黨在強(qiáng)國(guó)強(qiáng)軍征程中政治建軍的大方略，開拓了中國(guó)共產(chǎn)黨從思想上政治上建設(shè)和掌握軍隊(duì)的新境界，揭開了人民軍隊(duì)以整風(fēng)精神固本開新的新篇章。
