The spirit of Jiao Yulu
Jiao Yulu (1922-1964) was a model official of the CPC. He was assigned to work in Lankao, Henan Province, in 1962 as the county's Party secretary. Over a period of two years, Jiao led the whole county in a campaign to combat sandstorms and water logging, thereby improving the unproductive saline-alkaline soil. He died of cancer in May 1964. He is honored as a "model county Party secretary," a "good official of the Party," and a "good servant of the people."
The spirit displayed by Jiao Yulu was exemplified by his love for the people, a perpetual sense of his mission to serve the people wholeheartedly, his frugality, his tenacious struggle with nature, his down-to-earth and active approach, his refusal to flinch in the face of difficulty, his honesty, and his relentless exertion on behalf of the people and the Party.
焦裕祿精神
焦裕祿（1922—1964）是中國共產黨培養的一名優秀干部，1962年被調到河南省蘭考縣擔任縣委書記后，帶領全縣人民進行封沙、治水、改地的斗爭，1964年5月因癌癥不幸病逝。他被譽為“縣委書記的榜樣”“黨的好干部”“人民的好公仆”。在他身上所體現的焦裕祿精神，主要包括：牢記宗旨、心系群眾，“心里裝著全體人民、唯獨沒有他自己”的公仆精神；勤儉節約、艱苦創業，“敢教日月換新天”的奮斗精神；實事求是、調查研究，堅持一切從實際出發的求實精神；不怕困難、不懼風險，“革命者要在困難面前逞英雄”的大無畏精神；廉潔奉公、勤政為民，為黨和人民事業鞠躬盡瘁、死而后已的奉獻精神。
