A Neighborhood Community with a Shared Future
China's neighbors occupy an important position in China's overall diplomatic landscape, given their importance to China's peaceful development. The symposium on neighborhood diplomacy in October 2013, the first of its kind held by the People's Republic of China, assigns neighborhood a diplomatic priority for China.
Xi Jinping told the symposium that good diplomacy with neighboring countries is a requirement for realizing the Two Centennial Goals and the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation. China needs to work harder to conduct neighborhood diplomacy, create a sound regional environment for its own development, and let its development bring more benefits to neighboring countries for common progress, so that a sense of community with a shared future will take root.
At the Central Conference on Work Relating to Foreign Affairs in November 2014, Xi reiterated the need to build a neighborhood community with a shared future based on amity, sincerity, mutual benefit, and inclusiveness. To this end, China will foster friendship and partnership with neighboring countries, build an amicable, peaceful and prosperous neighborhood, and enhance mutually beneficial cooperation and interconnectivity. As a pillar in building this community with a shared future, China will play a bigger role as a responsible major country to make the goal come true at an earlier date.
周邊命運(yùn)共同體
周邊地區(qū)是中國(guó)和平發(fā)展的重要依托，周邊外交在中國(guó)總體外交布局中處于重要地位。2013年10月，中華人民共和國(guó)成立以來的首次周邊外交工作座談會(huì)，把周邊外交作為外交的優(yōu)先方向，更加突出了周邊外交在外交全局中的重要位置。習(xí)近平在會(huì)上指出，做好周邊外交工作，是實(shí)現(xiàn)“兩個(gè)一百年”奮斗目標(biāo)、實(shí)現(xiàn)中華民族偉大復(fù)興的中國(guó)夢(mèng)的需要，要更加奮發(fā)有為地推進(jìn)周邊外交，為中國(guó)發(fā)展?fàn)幦×己玫闹苓叚h(huán)境，使中國(guó)發(fā)展更多惠及周邊國(guó)家，實(shí)現(xiàn)共同發(fā)展，讓命運(yùn)共同體意識(shí)在周邊國(guó)家落地生根。2014年11月，在中央外事工作會(huì)議上，習(xí)近平強(qiáng)調(diào)，要切實(shí)抓好周邊外交工作，打造周邊命運(yùn)共同體，秉持“親、誠(chéng)、惠、容”的周邊外交理念，堅(jiān)持與鄰為善、以鄰為伴，堅(jiān)持睦鄰、安鄰、富鄰，深化同周邊國(guó)家的互利合作和互聯(lián)互通。隨著周邊外交的不斷開展，周邊命運(yùn)共同體的構(gòu)建成為周邊外交的重要目標(biāo)。中國(guó)作為周邊命運(yùn)共同體建設(shè)的中堅(jiān)力量，將更大地發(fā)揮負(fù)責(zé)任大國(guó)的作用，以促進(jìn)周邊命運(yùn)共同體的早日實(shí)現(xiàn)。
