China-ASEAN Community with a Shared Future
ASEAN is a priority in China's neighborhood diplomacy. When visiting Indonesia in October 2013, Xi Jinping delivered a speech to the parliament, entitled "Join Hands to Build a China-ASEAN Community with a Shared Future." He said, "China wishes to work with Indonesia and other ASEAN countries and make these countries be good neighbors, good friends and good partners that will share prosperity and security and stick together through thick and thin. By making joint efforts, we will build a more closely-knit China-ASEAN community with a shared future, and bring more benefits to both sides and to the people living in this region."
The China-ASEAN community he described is of great relevance to the current times, and guides China's ties with ASEAN countries. A more closely-knit China-ASEAN community follows the global trend toward peace, development, cooperation and mutual benefit, is in keeping with the common interests of Asian people and those in other parts of the world, and offers great potential for broad development.
中國—東盟命運共同體
東盟是中國周邊外交的優(yōu)先方向。2013年10月，習近平在印度尼西亞國會發(fā)表了題為《攜手建設中國—東盟命運共同體》的演講。他指出，中國“愿同印尼和其他東盟國家共同努力，使雙方成為興衰相伴、安危與共、同舟共濟的好鄰居、好朋友、好伙伴，攜手建設更為緊密的中國—東盟命運共同體，為雙方和本地區(qū)人民帶來更多福祉”。中國—東盟命運共同體的構建有其顯著的時代意義，也對中國與東盟國家關系的發(fā)展有顯著的指導性影響。一個更加緊密的中國—東盟命運共同體，符合求和平、謀發(fā)展、促合作、圖共贏的時代潮流，符合亞洲和世界各國人民共同利益，具有廣闊發(fā)展空間和巨大發(fā)展?jié)摿Α?/p>
