The Chinese Dream
Xi Jinping first explained his vision of the Chinese Dream on November 29, 2012, when visiting the exhibition “The Path to National Rejuvenation.” He pointed out that national rejuvenation has been the greatest dream of the Chinese people since the beginning of modern times. It is a dream that spans generations, a dream that reflects China’s national interests, and a dream embraced by every Chinese.
China will strive to complete the building of a moderately prosperous society by 2021, when the CPC celebrates its centenary, and to become a great modern socialist country that is prosperous, strong, democratic, culturally advanced, harmonious and beautiful by 2049, when the People’s Republic marks its centenary. At this point the dream of national rejuvenation will have become reality.
In essence, the Chinese Dream is a commitment to bringing prosperity and happiness to the country, the nation and the people To make the dream come true, China must follow the its own path to development, elevate the Chinese spirit, and boost national cohesion. The Chinese Dream is a dream of peace, development, cooperation and prosperity for all, benefiting not only the Chinese people but also the people of the rest of the world.
The effort to realize the Chinese Dream will be meaningful only if it accords with the Chinese people’s yearning for a better life. To realize the Chinese Dream is a solemn promise the CPC Central Committee with Xi Jinping at its core has made to the whole nation. It is a political statement that embodies the historical responsibility and mission of the CPC and the state. It constitutes an important part of upholding and developing Chinese socialism in the new era.
中國夢
2012年11月29日，習近平在參觀《復興之路》展覽時發表講話首次提出中國夢。他指出實現中華民族偉大復興，就是中華民族近代以來最偉大的夢想。這個夢想，凝聚了幾代中國人的夙愿，體現了中華民族和中國人民的整體利益，是每一個中華兒女的共同期盼。中國到2021年中國共產黨成立一百年時全面建成小康社會，到2049年中華人民共和國成立一百年時建成富強民主文明和諧美麗的社會主義現代化強國，中華民族偉大復興的夢想一定能實現。
中國夢視野寬廣、內涵豐富、意蘊深遠，其本質是實現國家富強、民族振興、人民幸福。這個夢想既是國家的、民族的，也是每一個中國人的，歸根到底是人民的夢。實現中國夢必須走中國道路，弘揚中國精神，凝聚中國力量。這個夢想是和平、發展、合作、共贏的夢，不僅造福中國人民，也同世界各國人民的美好夢想息息相通。
中國夢只有同中國人民對美好生活的向往結合起來才能取得成功。人民對美好生活的向往就是中國共產黨的奮斗目標。實現中華民族偉大復興的中國夢，這是以習近平同志為核心的黨中央對全體人民的莊嚴承諾，是黨和國家面向未來的政治宣言，充分體現了中國共產黨高度的歷史擔當和使命追求，為新時代堅持和發展中國特色社會主義注入了嶄新內涵。
