“Four Matters of Confidence”
In his speech of July 1, 2016, at the celebration of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, Xi Jinping added “confidence in its culture” to the existing “three matters of confidence” (confidence in the socialist path, theory and system). This was an augmentation of and innovation in the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
“Confidence in its path” is confidence in the direction of socialism with Chinese characteristics and confidence in its future; “confidence in its theory” is confidence in the scientific, true and authentic nature of the theory of socialism with Chinese characteristics; “confidence in its system” is confidence in the advanced and superior nature of the system of Chinese socialism; “confidence in its culture” is a full affirmation of the value of China’s own culture and a faith in its vitality.
Of the four, “confidence in its culture” is the most fundamental. China’s outstanding traditional culture took shape over the course of 5,000 years. Its modern revolutionary culture and advanced socialist culture were formed through China’s revolution, development and reform under the CPC’s leadership.
“四個(gè)自信”
2016年7月1日，習(xí)近平在慶祝中國(guó)共產(chǎn)黨成立95周年大會(huì)上的講話中，在堅(jiān)持中國(guó)特色社會(huì)主義“道路自信”、“理論自信”、“制度自信”基礎(chǔ)上，增加了“文化自信”，從而形成了“四個(gè)自信”的表述。這一表述是對(duì)中國(guó)特色社會(huì)主義理論體系的豐富和創(chuàng)新。中國(guó)特色社會(huì)主義包含道路、理論、制度、文化不可或缺的內(nèi)容。道路自信是對(duì)中國(guó)特色社會(huì)主義道路的方向和未來(lái)命運(yùn)的自信；理論自信是對(duì)中國(guó)特色社會(huì)主義理論體系的科學(xué)性、真理性、正確性的自信；制度自信是對(duì)中國(guó)特色社會(huì)主義制度的先進(jìn)性和優(yōu)越性的自信；文化自信是對(duì)自身文化價(jià)值的充分肯定，是對(duì)中國(guó)文化生命力的堅(jiān)定信念。“四個(gè)自信”是相輔相成、彼此互動(dòng)、有機(jī)統(tǒng)一的整體，是中國(guó)特色社會(huì)主義的完整信念體系。其中，文化自信是更基礎(chǔ)、更廣泛、更深厚的自信，是一個(gè)國(guó)家、一個(gè)民族發(fā)展中更基本、更深沉、更持久的力量。在5000多年文明發(fā)展中孕育的中華優(yōu)秀傳統(tǒng)文化，在黨領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人民在革命、建設(shè)、改革中創(chuàng)造的革命文化和社會(huì)主義先進(jìn)文化，積淀著中華民族最深層的精神追求，代表著中華民族獨(dú)特的精神標(biāo)識(shí)。堅(jiān)定中國(guó)特色社會(huì)主義道路自信、理論自信、制度自信、文化自信，不斷奪取中國(guó)特色社會(huì)主義新勝利，是當(dāng)代中國(guó)共產(chǎn)黨人偉大的使命。
