Cultural Development Under Socialism with Chinese Characteristics
Culture is a country and nation’s soul. A country will thrive only if its culture thrives, and a nation will be strong only if its culture is strong. Socialist culture with Chinese characteristics is derived from China’s fine traditional culture, which was born of the Chinese civilization and nurtured over more than 5,000 years; it has grown out of the revolutionary and advanced socialist culture that developed over the course of the Chinese people’s revolution, and through construction, and reform under the Party’s leadership; it is rooted in the great practice of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
At its sixth plenary session held in October 2011, the 17th CPC Central Committee proposed a guideline for continued cultural development under socialism with Chinese characteristics in order to make China a socialist country with advanced culture.
Since the 18th CPC National Congress China has made consistent efforts to advance its socialist culture. The report to the 19th CPC National Congress called for more efforts to inspire the cultural creativity of the whole nation and develop a great socialist culture.
Developing socialist culture with Chinese characteristics means developing a socialist culture for the nation – a culture that is sound and people-oriented, that embraces modernization, the world, and the future, and that promotes socialist material wellbeing and raises socialist cultural-ethical standards. In developing this culture, China must follow the guidance of Marxism, base its efforts on Chinese culture, and take into account the realities of contemporary China and the conditions of the present era. We should ensure that this culture serves the people and serves socialism. We should follow the principle of letting a hundred flowers bloom and a hundred schools of thought contend, and encourage creative transformation and development.
To promote cultural development, China will hold firmly the leading position in ideological work, cultivate and observe core socialist values, raise intellectual and moral standards, make socialist literature and art thrive, and promote the development of cultural programs and industries.
中國(guó)特色社會(huì)主義文化發(fā)展道路
文化是一個(gè)國(guó)家、一個(gè)民族的靈魂。文化興國(guó)運(yùn)興，文化強(qiáng)民族強(qiáng)。中國(guó)特色社會(huì)主義文化，源自于中華民族五千多年文明歷史所孕育的中華優(yōu)秀傳統(tǒng)文化，熔鑄于黨領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人民在革命、建設(shè)、改革中創(chuàng)造的革命文化和社會(huì)主義先進(jìn)文化，植根于中國(guó)特色社會(huì)主義偉大實(shí)踐。2011年10月召開(kāi)的中共十七屆六中全會(huì)提出，堅(jiān)持中國(guó)特色社會(huì)主義文化發(fā)展道路，努力建設(shè)社會(huì)主義文化強(qiáng)國(guó)。中共十八大以來(lái)，中國(guó)特色社會(huì)主義文化發(fā)展道路不斷推進(jìn)，中共十九大明確指出，堅(jiān)持中國(guó)特色社會(huì)主義文化發(fā)展道路，激發(fā)全民族文化創(chuàng)新創(chuàng)造活力，建設(shè)社會(huì)主義文化強(qiáng)國(guó)。
發(fā)展中國(guó)特色社會(huì)主義文化，就是以馬克思主義為指導(dǎo)，堅(jiān)守中華文化立場(chǎng)，立足當(dāng)代中國(guó)現(xiàn)實(shí)，結(jié)合當(dāng)今時(shí)代條件，發(fā)展面向現(xiàn)代化、面向世界、面向未來(lái)的，民族的科學(xué)的大眾的社會(huì)主義文化，推動(dòng)社會(huì)主義精神文明和物質(zhì)文明協(xié)調(diào)發(fā)展。必須堅(jiān)持為人民服務(wù)、為社會(huì)主義服務(wù)，堅(jiān)持百花齊放、百家爭(zhēng)鳴，堅(jiān)持創(chuàng)造性轉(zhuǎn)化、創(chuàng)新性發(fā)展，不斷鑄就中華文化新輝煌。在推動(dòng)社會(huì)主義文化建設(shè)中要做到：牢牢掌握意識(shí)形態(tài)工作領(lǐng)導(dǎo)權(quán)；培育和踐行社會(huì)主義核心價(jià)值觀；加強(qiáng)思想道德建設(shè)；繁榮發(fā)展社會(huì)主義文藝；推動(dòng)文化事業(yè)和文化產(chǎn)業(yè)發(fā)展。
